William Shockey, 71, of Baltimore, and Charles Provost, 70, of College Park, were arrested after investigations led troopers to loaded firearms in their possession.

The first incident happened on Tuesday, Feb. 18, when troopers from the Golden Ring Barrack received a complaint about a red Mustang driver waving a gun on I-695 near Liberty Road.

Investigators identified Shockey as the suspect and later seized a loaded handgun from his home after executing a search warrant.

He is currently being held without bond at the Baltimore County Detention Center, facing charges of first- and second-degree assault and firearm-related offenses.

Just hours later, troopers from the College Park Barrack responded to another road rage report on Route 1, where Provost was identified as the suspect and found at his College Park home.

A search of his home and vehicle led to the discovery of a loaded handgun. He now faces the same charges as Shockey and awaits a court appearance.

“No injuries were reported in either case,” police said. Both remain under investigation.
